This hair salon (referred to in Kenya as “hair saloon”) is an example of how a small loan was used to start a business by a Sudanese Women Association in Nairobi (SWAN) member. Located in Kenyatta Market Place, you will find several other businesses such as restaurants, tailor shops and other hair salons owned by SWAN members. A micro-credit program is a part of Lutheran World Relief-supported project that helps Sudanese refugees have a better life in their new home of Nairobi.
