DESCRIPTION:
Prior to the war, Phebe Hospital and School of Nursing operated several training centers, including nursing, laboratory technician, and midwifery training. Phebe is a church hospital, which has been designated the country medical center and referral and training hospital.
Training is still a component of Phebe, on a more limited basis, now that parts of Phebes program have begun again.
OBJECTIVES:
" To train nurses who will in turn train traditional village midwives.
" To provide safer delivery of babies in the large service area of Bong County served by Phebe Hospital and its community outreach programs.
" To assist person working in the difficult community health problems caused by the many disruptions of the civil war.
" To assist in the process of reconstruction and renovation of the hospital and school of nursing facilities.
